My Platform

Five Priorities for Stronger Schools

Focused on student achievement, transparent governance, and strong community engagement.

As a parent of three Hanover School Division students, I believe students succeed when schools are safe, supportive, and focused on learning. My platform is built around five priorities that reflect the concerns I've heard from families and the values I will bring to the role of Trustee.

Priority 01

Transparency & Accountability

Keeping families informed and increasing transparency in board decision-making.

Families deserve clear communication about the decisions that affect students and schools. I believe transparency helps build trust and encourages meaningful engagement between the Board, families, and the community.

  • Livestream public board meetings
  • Keeping families informed about decisions affecting students and schools
  • Clearly communicating proposed policy and governance changes

When information is shared openly and clearly, families are better able to understand how decisions are being made and how those decisions impact students and schools.

Priority 02

Safe, Respectful & Supportive Schools

Supporting safe and welcoming learning environments for all students.

Students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and connected to their school community. Schools should be places where respect, responsibility, and positive relationships are encouraged.

  • Supporting safe and welcoming learning environments
  • Promoting respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour
  • Helping students build a strong sense of belonging and connection at school

Creating positive school cultures helps students focus on learning, develop confidence, and build the skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Priority 03

Student Learning & Achievement

Helping every student reach their full potential.

Student learning must remain the central focus of every decision made by the Board. Every student learns differently and may follow different pathways to success.

  • Helping every student reach their full potential
  • Supporting different learning styles and pathways to success
  • Using proven educational practices that help students succeed

Whether students pursue university, college, trades, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, or other opportunities after graduation, strong educational foundations are essential.

Priority 04

Stronger Classroom Supports

Ensuring students have the support and resources they need to succeed.

Strong classrooms are at the heart of student success. Students benefit when teachers, educational assistants, and school staff have the tools and supports necessary to meet a diverse range of student needs.

  • Ensuring students have the support and resources they need to succeed
  • Supporting funding that reflects the unique needs of each school
  • Advocating for smaller class sizes

Providing appropriate classroom supports helps create learning environments where students can thrive and where staff can focus on helping students achieve their best.

Priority 05

Community Engagement & Parent Voice

Strengthening connections between schools, families, and the community.

Parents are an important partner in education. Strong schools are built through collaboration between students, families, staff, and the broader community.

  • Creating opportunities for families to participate in school life
  • Supporting greater parent and community involvement in schools
  • Strengthening connections between schools and the communities they serve

Good governance begins with listening. I am committed to being accessible, approachable, and engaged with the community I serve.
